High Tide Inc. is looking for a remote Human Resources Generalist that resides in eastern Canada, greater Toronto area. Our organization is growing exponentially, in the cannabis sector. As our HR Generalist, you will play a key role in shaping our people processes. You will be primarily responsible for some full-cycle recruitment, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience and managing employee relations and investigations. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Hiring - 10%

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring top talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop job postings.
  • Coordinate and facilitate interview processes, offers, and pre-employment checks.
  • Maintain ATS and recruitment metrics for reporting and improvement.

Employee Onboarding - 10%

  • Develop and manage onboarding programs that help new hires integrate successfully.
  • Prepare onboarding materials, schedule orientation sessions, and coordinate with IT and relevant departments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements during onboarding.

Employee Relations & Investigations - 80% 

  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and document investigations into workplace concerns and complaints.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Provide recommendations and follow-up on resolutions.

Qualifications

  • Retail industry preferred as a HR generalist experience. 
  • Union experience preferred. 
  • Degree in business administration, human resources management, or a related field required. 
  • MBA/CPHR/SHRM – CPHR required. 
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR work experience in employee relations and investigations focus. 
  • Excellent communicator and possess effective coaching skills. 
  • Sound knowledge of employment standards and other applicable legislations across all provinces of Canada.
  • Working knowledge of a public company preferred.
  • Strong HR process skills in investigations, employee relations and alignment with business functions.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills. 
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems preferred
  • Computer literacy, including advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. 
  • Solid foundation in employment law, legislation and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cannabis sector an asset.
  • Strong Investigation training or experience preferred.
