You will be working as part of multi-disciplinary team responsible for researching, architecting and building a cutting-edge platform that enable Goldman Sachs teams to deploy and manage services in public cloud safely and securely. We are at an early stage of modernizing our services around cloud native principles, and you will be directly contributing to platform that programmatically enforces safety, security and compliance of services and enables engineers to innovate faster.<br><br>The organization is seeking highly collaborative, creative, and intellectually curious engineers who are passionate about developing and implementing cutting-edge cloud computing solutions. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, and will be creative collaborators who evolve, adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced global environment.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities And Qualifications<br><br></strong>As part of our global Cloud Development team you will work on various components as a Software Engineer. Your role includes specification, development, testing and releasing of new features. The team owns the platforms throughout the lifecycle. You are expected to contribute to the vision, understand our customers’ needs, business goals, product roadmap and contribute to building an engineering culture within the team. We expect the successful candidate to deliver high quality software and to be passionate about software engineering. You must have a proficient understanding of software development, security and the mechanisms to design safe, resilient and highly-available cloud native services.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> You are a hands on Cloud engineer who will focus on migrating workloads to the public cloud. </li><li> You have working knowledge of AWS services and design principles. </li><li> You thrive in a multi-project environment, dealing with different business units and teams to understand their challenges and goals in moving to the public cloud. </li><li> You are experienced in architecting and deploying multi-tiered applications which are highly available, resilient, with secure cloud architectures. </li><li> You proactively manage issues and risks through the delivery lifecycle. You have exceptional analytical skills, able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions. </li><li> You possess a strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to a broad team. </li><li> You are independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environment. </li><li> Manage multiple tasks and use sound judgment when prioritizing. </li><li> Collaborate with a globally-distributed cross functional team in building customer-centric products. </li><li> Build services to integrate on-premises systems with public cloud providers and software libraries to provide consistent, secure, and ready-to-consume patterns for application development teams using public cloud services. </li><li> Collaborate across teams on feature design and problem solving. </li><li> Manage the full lifecycle of software components, from requirements through design, testing, development, release and demise. </li><li> Partner with colleagues from across Engineering to ensure an outstanding, useable, and unobtrusive experience for development teams building and deploying their applications and infrastructure. </li><li> Help to communicate and promote best practices for public cloud application development and infrastructure management across the firm. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience (more experienced professionals are desired) with at least 2+ years of familiarity with AWS services. </li><li> B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience). </li><li> Familiarity with disciplines of enterprise software development such as configuration and release management, source code and version controls along with operating considerations such as monitoring. </li><li> Skilled in implementing architectural governance. </li><li>Practiced in Javascript / Typescript / Node.</li><li> Proficient using relational and NoSQL database technologies. </li><li> Experience building transactional systems and strong understanding of software architecture. </li><li> Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li> Ability to establish trusted partnerships with product leads, and executive level stakeholders. </li><li> Comfort with agile operating models. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience with Cloud migrations. </li><li> Understanding of Solution Engineering practices. </li><li> Fluency in AWS CDK, Typescript, NPM, CloudFormation. <br><br></li></ul><strong>About Goldman Sachs<br><br></strong>At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
