Summary

**Email Security Engineer – Proofpoint & Mimecast (Ongoing)**

We're a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) looking to add anothern experienced Email Security Engineer to support ongoing management of Proofpoint, Mimecast, and CheckPoint environments across our client base. This is a long-term engagement with approximately 2–5 hours of work per week, with additional hours available for project-based work as it arises.

**What You'll Be Doing**

• Backend administration, configuration, and management of Proofpoint and Mimecast platforms across multiple client environments

• Owning issues directly within the control plane of both platforms — not just reviewing quarantine or making surface-level changes

• Handling change request tickets across both platforms (policy updates, allow/block list management, quarantine reviews, etc.)

• Troubleshooting email delivery issues, false positives/negatives, and security incidents on behalf of clients

• Supporting project-based work as needed (migrations, new feature rollouts, policy overhauls, etc.)

**What We're Looking For**

This role requires deep, hands-on platform expertise. Strong candidates will have direct experience with:

**Proofpoint**

• Protection policy logic, spam/phish/BEC tuning, TAP/TRAP workflows

• URL and attachment defense, trace analysis, allow/deny strategy

• DLP and encryption controls

**Mimecast**

• Gateway policy design, impersonation protection, anti-spoofing

• URL and attachment protection, content examination, DLP, secure messaging

• Message tracking and profile/policy interaction troubleshooting

**Core Mail Security & Transport**

• SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SMTP routing, relay/smart host patterns

• Journaling, archiving, and delivery-path troubleshooting

**End-to-End Technical Triage**

• Ability to identify whether root cause lives in DNS, Microsoft 365/Exchange, Proofpoint, Mimecast, policy precedence, or downstream recipient-side rejection

**Additional Requirements**

• Experience working in an MSSP or multi-tenant environment is a strong plus

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal oversight

• Responsive and reliable — this role requires timely turnaround on client tickets and requests

**Engagement Details**

• Ongoing, long-term contract

• Estimated 2–5 hours/week with potential for more during active projects
