Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer to work in our Canonsburg, PA, office. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer will report to the Procurement Manager, will perform the duties described in the job description below, and will be considered an Exempt employee. The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement, specifically within the technical commodities industry of valves, pumps, vessels, and other water treatment equipment. This candidate will have savvy negotiation skills, be highly organized, a relationship builder, customer service driven, and a team player. Job Description: Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems  Copies data and compiles records and reports. Operated computer terminal to input and retrieve data. Purchases supplies. Data entry of all purchase orders. Assisting other departments when it is required. Review requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. Receive and contact vendors to find out the status of an order. Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality. I interfaced with all departments and resolved problems and issues with needed purchase items. Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Traveling when needed to meet project requirements. This role can be done remotely but requires 30-50% travel   Skill Requirements: Ability to get quotations from vendors for projects & review them. Ability to negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities for projects expediting to meet the due date. Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage appropriate purchasing budget, check for missing material in the shop, and follow up on partial deliveries. Ability to maintain budget reports. Ability to handle nonconformance with the Quality department. Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred. Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired.
